INTRO TO DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

Differential Equations is a course normally taken after successful completion of 3 semesters of Calculus.  However, many students are now taking Differential Equations after successful completion of 2 semesters of Calculus.  However, Multivariable Calculus (3rd Calc. sequence) is recommeded as it builds "maturity" and thus making it somewhat easier to understand Differential Equations.  The following topics are usually covered in an introductory Differential Equations course:

  • Classification of ODE's

  • Solving First-Order ODE's

  • Applications involving First-Order ODE's

  • The Laplace Transform

  • Power Series Methods
