PRE CALCULUS

Pre Calculus is a course studied after successful completion of 2 years of high school algebra and geometry and to strenghten students understanding of the underlying concepts.   Taking College Algebra and College Trigonometry is equivalent to Pre Calculus but taking these courses separately allows for a more indepth preparation for The Calculus.  The following topics are usually covered in a Pre Calculus course:

 

  • Analyzing Graphs of Functions

  • Polynomial and Rational Functions

  • Exponential and Logarithmic Fuctions

  • Trigonometry (usually takes up most of second semester)

  1. Development of Unit Circle and Trigonometic Graphs

  2. Analyic Trigonometry

  3. Applications in Trigonometry

  • Systems of Equations and Inequalities

  • Matrices and Determinants

  • Sequences and Probability

  • Topics in Analytic Geometry
